Hi!
Thanks for the info.
Since I need Backup Agent 1.2 for V10.10, I must follow the procedure:
1) Install v10
2) Install Backup Agent 1.2
3) Upgrade v10 to v10.10 (here’s the problem you say)
I tested it an got the same problem, but managed to fix it.
Download ex Sysinternals application called “Process Explorer” (now Microsoft).
Run the v10.10 install and continue until you get to the error "C:\Doc...............\logs\pvsw.log. Please shut down all other applications then click Retry." Here is obvious that one of the application is “locking” pvsw.log for it self. Now the Process Explorer comes handy:
1) Open Process explorer
2) Look for the “msiexec.exe” that Pervasive install started (in my case there were 3 of them)
3) Click on each of them and choose “Show lower pane Ctrl+L” or “Show handles”
a. It will show what files that application (in this case msiexec.exe) is using
4) Look for the "C:\Doc...............\logs\pvsw.log” in the lower pane, right-click it and choose “close handle”
5) Click “Retry” on the install application
In this case you just closed pvsw.log file for the install application and since install log is “not entirely business critical” ; ) you can go ahead. In my case (2 tests) install completed successfully.
I hope this helps.
Best regards,
Smiljan
PS: any info when Backup Agent 1.2 for v10.10 (direct install) will be available?
