    Reactivation DATAEXCHANGE after crash

Can anybody tell me, if i can use the following way for reactivate dataexchange ?

OS: Windows 2003 Server for First Site, Windows XP for Partner Site, continous replication mode.

Normally all Users use the First Site for data access. In Case of Failure, users change to Partner Site.

If the Server crashes, i need to deactivate replication, clone all Data Files from Parter Site, copy to Server,

move Data files separatly, setup new replication with empty tables, deactivate replication, replace empty tables (files)

with old data files, start replication + db services, let users access / operate on server and start dxsynctables to sync the system during runtime ?

(So if this could work, the shutdown time is very short and setup easy, because complete replication needs more than 40 h)

     Many thanks.

    Replace everything Wink

The data files and PDC tables on your partner site are (or should be) correctly linked already. You wouldn't need to sync those.

    1) setup firstsite with empty tables
    2) connect partnersite
    3) deactivate both site databases using commandline tool dxdeact
    4) replace everything on both sites with original files from partnersite
    5) activate the databases with dxact (may require /force flag if original partnersite wasn't properly deactivated)
    6) let it run
