    Install on Microsoft Virtual PC

Hello, I just downloaded the trial version of PSQL 10 WGE to test it with our application.

For this I use Microsoft VPC, but it it seems so that it cannot be installed there. Just by clicking on the setup I get an error "This is not a Win32 application". On normal Windows the download seems to be ok.

But I cannot try a new version of PSQL on my productive system! Is it possible that the using in a virtual machine is prohibited?

By the way I was very astonished that the trial period has been reduced to only 10 days (instead of 30 days in previous versions). This is very strange, I think Pervasive should be aware that trying a database in only 10 days is not possible. Even 30 days are too short to try a complex application against a new database version.

I've installed v10 WGE onto a Vista and XP VPC image without problem.

Are there any other event messages? What OS is the VPC image?

Ok, now I have tried to install on another computer, but installation fails there anyway.

I think there might be a problem on Pervasive servers. I downloaded it once again, and download on main location fails. Download from other location works but the setup is the exactly same like the first which I took some hours ago from main server.

Now I see that the downloaded WGE is only about 9.5MB, which is much smaller than in previous engines. First I thought that the setup maybe download more during installation, but now I think the download file on Pervasive servers is corrupt.

Ok, I try it again tomorrow, maybe it is fixed.

I found the solution. Our Trend Micro virus scanner had found something in the file and sent a virus alert.

Now I downloaded the file again without virus scanner.

    Thank you.

    Hi,

Where are you accessing the data on the Virtual PC? I am using a mapped drive (VPC setting) and i cannot get any access to the data, it's coming up with "Invalid table name".
