"Maintain Named Database" was a separate option in PSQLV8 and older.  Newer database engines (v9 and above) display the named databases directly in the Pervasive Control Center.  Deleting a database is as simple as right-clicking on the database in the PCC and selecting Delete.

    hi,

these names do not appear in the pcc. the database was deleted before the name was deleted through pcc, so if you want to use the same name it would respond name already exist.

What happens if you enter the statement DROP DATABASE database-name in a new SQL Statement in the PCC?

The problem is not the named database then -- it is the ODBC Engine DSN.  From the Tools menu of the Pervasive Control Center, start the ODBC Administrator (32-bit).  Find the Engine DSN's that have the SAME NAME as the named databases you have already deleted, and delete them.

You can prevent this in the future when you delete a database within the PCC -- be sure to check the box to delete the ODBC DSN at the same time.

Can you also check to see if the DSN exists as well?
