The Status 94 is a permissions issue.  If all of the other clients reading the same file work correctly, then I I would check to see if there are any firewall issues between this client and the remote computer.  I have seen anti-virus software cause this type of issue as well.

What is installed on the machines (i.e. Server, Workgroup, Client)?  If you have a Workgroup Engine installed on the machine having getting the Status 94, what do you get if you stop the Workgroup engine?
