    PSQL 10 on Windows 7

     Hi Everyone.

I have a client who has upgraded their PSQL server to V10.  The PSQL client has installed ok on all clients (XP machines) except the New Windows 7 PC.  It installed ok (so I am told), but when we run our application, he gets the following error.

    'Failed to initialise Btrieve (WBTRV32.DLL)'

Are there any know issues like this?

Its WIndows 7 Pro with 4Gb Ram. PSQL is version 10.0.204.000

    Anyone any ideas?

    many thanks
    Rowland

For installing on Windows 7, you should be using Pervasive PSQL Summit v10.30, the only version certified for Win7.  You can download a copy of this installer from the Pervasive web site here:

        http://www.pervasivedb.com/Database/Trials/Pages/PSQLSummitv10TrialDownloads.aspx

While you're at it, you may want to upgrade your other systems to v10.30, too, to take advantage of the latest bug fixes and updates.  Note that v10.00 does have a slightly different license scheme than PSQLv10.10 and newer, so if you happen to have two stacked licenses, you'll need to convert one to a User Count Increase first.  If your server has a single PSQLv10 license installed on it, then you should have no issues.

Thanks Bill. We'll give it a try. We'll let you know if it doesn't fix it.
