Pervasive Server v10.10 causes Windows 7 not to boot

I have Windows 7 Ultimate MSDN RTM loaded on a dual boot system. Disk 0 has XP SP3 and PSQL v9.5 server which works fine. Disk 1 has Win 7. Pervasive v10.10 install completes sucessfully. After the reboot I get a brief flash of blue screen (can't catch what it says). Loader then prompts to run repair or restart windows. The repair fixes Windows. I know that Win7 isn't officially release until sometime in October but I'm trying to get a jump on certifying our product on Win7. I hope to try Win7 Pro on my lab system at work next week and I'll try both v10.10 server and workgroup. Any thoughts or fixes??

     A few questions:

    - What PSQL v10.10 install did you run (x86, x64, WGE, Server, client)? Did you run a custom or typical install

    - Were there any errors or messages during the install?

    - Is this  x64 or x86 Windows 7?

    - How much RAM is on the system and what kind of processor?

I haven't seen anything like this in my testing but I've only been testing in VMs.

I was installing v10.10 x86 Server with a custom install on x86 Windows 7 Ultimate. There were no install errors and the install said it completed normally. The PC is running an AMD X2 5200 CPU with 4 Gig of DDR2 800 RAM.

What options did you select in the custom PSQL install?  For example, did you enable XIO?  If so, re-run the install without XIO to see if it still fails.

I have loaded Windows 7 Pro (x86) on my Acer GT7600 server and installed Pervasive v10.10 x86 Server as a default install with no problems. I'll get back to you on the custom install on Win 7 Ultimate when I have time to try it again. I'll deselect XIO when I try it and let you know.

Re: Pervasive Server v10.10 causes Windows 7 not to boot

Review: ECS KN3 SLI2 Extreme Mobo, 4 Gig Ram, 2 - 320 Gig HD using dual boot. XP Pro on Disk0 and Win 7 Ultimate on Disk1.

Tried Custom install where I installled v10.10 Server on E:\Pervasive. I installed all components. Install showed no errors and prompted for a reboot. After reboot the bootloader started, Windows flashed a blue screen and the reboot cycle started again. I let Win 7 run a repair and it booted as normal.

Today I tried a Typical install with all components and had the same reboot problems. I then tried a Custom install, accepted the default folders, deselected XIO from installing and the install completed with no errors and didn't prompt for a reboot. I was able to access the demo data in PCC.

I did a Typical install on my work lab running Win 7 Pro and in worked even though I didn't deselect XIO. At this point I don't know if this is related to being Win 7 Ultimate instead of Pro (doubt it) or being a dual boot which brings Win 7 bootloader into play.

Does your "work lab" have the same hardware as your dual boot system?  Can you post the install logs from both systems?

Sounds like it's an XIO issue (since deselecting it did not cause the problem on the dual boot system).
