v10.10 - can't change directories (Transaction and DBnames config)

    Hi!

     I have MS Server 2003 R2 in cluster. I've installed Pervasive v10.10 - OK.

Now, according to specs, I have to change "Transaction" and "DBnames configuration" directories from C:\Documents and Settings\All users\.... to same volume of both nodes (in my case to D:\Config).

I point directories to D:\Config and click "Apply" button. Pervasive notifies me that I have to restart services and I do it (in "Cluster administrator" MMC).

But when I open PCC again, directories are not changed. I even restarted server few times.

How do I fix this? It's pretty urgent.

Thanks for any kind of info.

    Best regards,

    Smiljan

    Three questions:

    1) Are you trying to do this from Remote Desktop?

    2) Are you running 32-bit or 64-bit?

    3) Did you upgrade this server from PSQLv9 or earlier?

We've seen this problem with RDP users who upgraded from older engines, as the PSQLv10 install doesn't clear the "WTS Client" registry setting properly. We've also seen problems relating to this on 64-bit environments, where even admin users cannot change settings from the server itself.

    Two Workarounds:

    1) Modify the registry settings directly with RegEdit.

    2) Modify the settings from a client, connected to the server.

    Hi!

    1) I tried it both ways - using RDP and directly on the server
    2) 32 bit
    3) upgraded from v10 to v10.10

    I’ll try changing registry keys.

    Thank you and best regards,

I've changed it and it's ok now in PCC.

But we still have same problems with PCC and I think previous problem is related to this also.

    1) I tried to create database on the server (locally, not over RDP, and I get error “7011: Insufficient access right for this operation”). I’m domain admin and enterprise admin.
    2) I also tried to change “Performance tunning” settings  “Max Microkernel Memory usage” and “Cache allocation size” etc. and the same problem persists  changes are not saved.

I've also checked registry permissions on "Pervasive software" hive and it's set only to "Everyone" but with Full Control=Allow and Read=Allow. "Restricted Access on WTS client" is set to 0. I work directly on server (not via RDP).

Apparently it has something to do with access rights.
    What do you suggest?

Check the registry key:  HKLM\Software\Pervasive Software\Utilities Interface\Settings.  The single entry (Restricted Access...) in there should be set to 0 (unrestricted).  Can you confirm?

You might want to check the system event log for DEP messages Idea
