    DataExchange v2.9 thinks PSQL v10 isn't there

I'm in the middle of upgrading a Win2003 server that had PSQL v8.7 with DX v2.7 to PSQL v10.10 with DX v2.9.  I got the v10.10 upgrade completed, disabled the DX services, and rebooted.  So far so good.  However, when I run the DX v2.9 setup, it complains that "DataExchange v2.9 requires PSQL v10..."  Neither the docs nor the ReadMe have anything to say on this subject and, of course, the KB returns nothing.

PSQL 10 is running - I can view databases, configs, etc. in the PCC; can anyone suggest a secret handshake?

    From the PSQL v10.10 Readme:

    Security Solutions data management products:

If you have Pervasive PSQL v10.0 and Backup Agent 1.2, DataExchange 2.9 or AuditMaster 6.4 installed, the Security Solutions products will continue to work after you upgrade to Pervasive PSQL v10.10.
Note, however, Backup Agent 1.2, DataExchange 2.9 or AuditMaster 6.4 cannot be installed directly on Pervasive PSQL v10.10. They can be installed only on PSQL v10.0. They can be used with Pervasive PSQL v10.10 if they were already present after you upgraded from Pervasive PSQL v10.0 to Pervasive PSQL v10.10.
Revised versions of Backup Agent, DataExchange, and AuditMaster are being prepared that can be installed on Pervasive PSQL v10.10. These products will be available in the future.

Roll back to v10.00, and it will install fine.  Wait for v10.10 until the new DX is available.

    Bill,

Thanks for the suggestion, but PSQL v10.00 was never installed - the server was upgraded from v8.7 and I only have v10.10.

FWIW, I was able to trick the installer by tweaking the version stored in the following registry key:

    HKLM\Software\Pervasive Software\Products\Pervasive.SQL NT Server\InstallInfo

After the v10.10 installation, the following value:data pairs were found:

    ProductVersion : 10.10.126
    VersionLevel : 10.10

After exporting the above cited registry key, I changed the value:data pairs as follows:

    ProductVersion : 10.01.061.000
    VersionLevel : 10.01

Then the installation proceeded successfully.  After the install completed, I merged the registry export back in to restore the proper value:data pairs. Everything seems to be OK now.

P.S. Thanks go to Steve Hyde for his support.

Roll back to v10.00, and it will install fine.  Wait for v10.10 until the new DX is available.
