Re: Can 2000i be installed on Netware 6.5?

In their zeal to get people to move to PSQLv10, Pervasive recently removed the client installation from their web site.  Apparently, if you don't already have it, you can't get it any more.  I have asked them to revisit this Downloads page and make the necessary files available.

In the meantime, you can go to the Product Updates page (http://ww2.pervasive.com/Database/MaintenanceReleases/Pages/PervasivePSQLv9ServicePack2(95).aspx) and download the complete client from there.  The v9.50 Service Pack 2 Client download is ALSO the same as the full install download.

Re: Can 2000i be installed on Netware 6.5?

I didn't read the entire thread so please forgive me if I'm repeating something but I just wanted to add my 2 cents because I've been through it.

I too had this question when i first moved from NetWare 5 (which I had to buy PSQL 2000i licenses for) to NetWare6.5 (which came with it).  When I installed it on 5, the default location was SYS:PVSW and there were a couple of subfolders, one of which had the Windows client installation in it.  When I setup 6.5, it had the PVSW folder, but when I went looking for the Windows client software it wasn't there.  So I went into NWConfig and reinstalled it using the NW6.5 installation disk (I don't remember if it's one the OS or Product disk).

My guess is that when you install PSQL with the OS installation program it only installs the service, but if you want the full blown installation then you have to reinstall it with NWConfig or whatever your preference is for installing software on your servers

    I hope that helps!
