Hi all!

I just run into another problem with Pervasive v10.10 – this time uninstall.

This happens if you have installed Pervasive v10.10 and Backup Agent v1.2.

Problem: if you want to uninstall Pervasive v10.10, then you firstly have to uninstall BA v1.2. Then you try to uninstall BA v1.2, but you are unable to since BA v1.2 uninstaller looks for Pervasive v10.0

My suggestion (it worked for me) is to change registry key. I tried to “fool” BA uninstaller when it looks what version of Pervasive is installed on the system. So I changed key from v10.10.xxx to v10.0

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Pervasive Software\Products\Pervasive.SQL NT Server\InstallInfo iz 10.10....

CHANGE THIS KEY TO 10.0

Then you can uninstall BA. And since BA is uninstalled Pervasive 10.10 uninstalls cleanly.

PS: since we already spent 6+ month testing Pervasive and reporting bugs, Pervasive inc. should so kind and send contributors at least coffee-cup (or similar). What do you think? Did we deserve it?

Actually, we found and reported this issue with the v10.01 patch, which (of course) created the same uninstall issue with the Backup Agent.  Pervasive was supposed to write a KB article on thisd, but I don't know if anyone ever did.

With that same change, you should also be able to INSTALL the v1.2 BA onto v10.10.
